Titled Unko Technica, this classic-feel platformer features a hero that is literally a dung striving to navigate to a commode. For those curious, "Unko" means "poop."
Player controls is easy to grasp: just use a single jump button. Throughout numerous levels, battle boss fights and access a market to buy skins for your poop character.
Time your movements precisely, since one wrong move forces starting over. Jump off floating orbs to launch your character to new heights, navigate disappearing platforms, and activate buttons to unlock new areas. Gather UN-KOINS for buying challenging levels in which the action gets crazy.
Visually, the experience boasts eye-catching level designs and an amazing music score. The simple visual style of moving abstract forms evokes memories of fans of old favorites like Earthbound.
Although hard to name other games where you play as a piece of feces, video games have long featured toilet humor. As an illustration, in Death Stranding, players craft throwables from character waste. Titles such as Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved use manure as plant food. And of course, such content is present a lot in the adventure The Stick of Truth.
Regardless of its goofy concept, Unko Technica has already received impressive accolades, like taking top honors at Bandai Namco's GYAAR Studio in 2023. The demo is accessible at present on Steam, with the complete version planned to launch on computers in the fall.
